Guilin
On the west bank of the Lijiang River lays Guilin – one of the most picturesque cities you could live in. A large number of fragrant Sweet Osmanthus trees grow in the city and its scenery is reputed to be the best in China.
Local industry includes pharmaceuticals, machinery, perfume, wine, tea and herbs. Its prominence as a tourist area has been overtaken by its industry, and the tourists now use Guilin as a stopover on the way to the even more scenic Yangshuo, downriver. There is a demand for short term tourist accommodation, and longer terms rental property for the growing industrial base.
Travel to Guilin is easy – there are daily flights to Guilin Liangjiang International Airport from most major cities within China - Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou, Hong Kong, etc. Buses and trains are frequent.
